There are several ways you can support this site and its continued maintenance. Some ways are by giving back to the Linux community, and others are for motivating me to keep working. Don't feel obligated to support this site, however. It's just a little nice to get a little back in return for doing something fun.
Since links to Amazon's associate program seem to be everywhere, that I'd do what I usually try to do: go with the crowd. As I update these pages, I should have links to books that expand on the material that I write about, in case you want to find out more.
The books are usually more in-depth that what I cover; what I give you is something to get you up and running in a few minutes while the books are references that you may want to keep on your shelf in case you want to go beyond and do cooler things.
Linux Central made a deal with me that if I linked to them, they would send me free CD-ROMs once in a while. As a show of trust, they even sent me a bunch of Linux CD-ROMs before I even put this page up.
After I took a look at their website, I saw that their prices were pretty darn reasonable. They sell the CD-ROM sets of distributions as well as boxed sets, and other stuff.
World Vision is a Christian organization that has been around for about 50 years now. I first found out about them on TV, where Alex Trebek and some lady were urging people to donate $22.00 a month to help people in Africa.
World Vision's website is at http://www.worldvision.org/. There, you can find telephone numbers to call for all kinds of stuff you can do. If you want to help those around the world who are less fortunate, I urge you to consider helping in one way or another.
